You have come to the right place if you want to experience the local Berlin gay scene vs the gay area which is mainly for tourists. And not only that. The area itself offers much better value for money bars and restaurants although it is now the most hip of the city with easy access to almost all other areas of Berlin. The station “Kottbusser Tor” which is 3-4 minutes away is really the cross of the U8 and U1 lines which take you north, south, east and west without change.
The apartment itself is found in the garden of an 1889 building situated just in front of a canal. Get on a boat just in front of the building to see Berlin from its many canals, walk 400m to Kottbusser Tor (or “Kotti”) with its variety of diverse places to eat and drink, walk 200m to Graefekiez with its Gründerzeit architecture and a more elegant selection of restaurants for an evening meal or late outdoor breakfast but make sure you don’t miss a walk along the canal downstairs with options such as a French Bistro, a Danish bakery, a famous Donut cafe, an Asian Ramen restaurant and many others - the possibilities of discovery are almost endless. At every corner, at every side street.
Nearby gay bars: Roses, Möbel Olfe, Sudblock (also famous for its Sunday brunch), Ficken 3000, Silver Future, Golden Finish, Barbie Deinhoffs,
Nearby gay clubs: SO36 with the famous monthly “Gayhane" Party for local oriental gays (Turks, Arabs etc), L.U.X., Monster Ronson's Tranny Karaoke. Berghain is 3 stops away.

Let me know how you will arrive in Berlin and I will send you a pdf file with detail instructions
I have been living in Berlin for the last 5 years. My interests include fitness, espionage movies, travelling, and science especially astronomy and cosmology. I don’t believe everybody is equal in everything so our only way forward is to accept and not to be bothered by our differences.
