Accommodation description from the host:
The house is centrally located, 5 minutes walking distance from the main canals and not far from the museum quarter; It is reportedly quiet, though near to it are three bus / tram stops connecting you to any direction. it is situated next to the famous old Amsterdam quarter, the Jordaan and the gay Mondays bar “Same – Place”. A highlight from the spring onwards, is the newly renovated Westerpark, the city's gas-factory made into a culture / nature multi-stage.
The house is on the ground floor! therefore no need to carry suitcases on the high staircases of our old city houses. And this makes it ideal for elderly couples, friends, or less valid persons. It is with mirrors enhancing the space, and has a homely atmosphere with yesterdays and modern furniture. The back yard allows in plenty sunlight, though it is not accessible.
The double bed is comfortable, with 2 side tables and an alarm-clock. Likewise the sofa bed is an IKEA Ektorp model. There are also two wardrobes. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary gadgets, (also Italian espresso coffee!). Smoking is allowed in the kitchen only. There is iron with board, a hair dryer, umbrellas and a first aid kit. The house has own wc / shower – which you may not find it a kings size, but is bright fresh and ventilated.
Two large supermarkets near the house are open seven days a week till 22.00 hrs. Also, at Jordaan, there are the two pleasant well known markets; During Mondays with new fabrics and Saturdays with antiques, second-hand, and biological food. Jordaan is also famous for its many and varied cafés and restaurants.
Public transport: Amsterdam is easy to walk around, and has also a good public transport if needed. If you come from Schiphol Airport I advise you to take the train, which is every 10 minutes, to Amsterdam Central Train Station. Then inside the train station take the bus. 50 meters further, direction of the bus, is your home. Although you can easily walk to the city centre, however for other destinations, i.e. to the museums quarter, you may use the trams Nr 3, and Nr 10.
Check-in time until: any time after 15:00 hrs.
Check-out time 11:00 hrs or before that.
