Accommodation description from the host:
Sunny, art filled apartment in the East Village. A nice sized one bedroom, with roof access, and a work space. The blue day bed can be used for a 3rd guest to sleep on.

Full kitchen, queen sized bed, full bath (shower & tub), good heat and ac, towels and lines included. I own half of the roof so you have a lovely private outdoor space. My home is a very quiet, sunny and artistic space.

Located in the East Village / Alphabet City, 7th Street between Avenue B & C. It is a 4 floor walk up, no elevator.

Free internet.

We are in the back of the building, it is quiet and sunny.

Subways are a 10- 15 min walk. You can catch the L train at 1st Avenue & 14th St., or the F train at Houston and 2nd Ave. You also have choices at 8th street and Broadway (nr) and Astor Place (6), and bus choices.

Situated in a real neighborhood in the East Village. A half a block to Tomkins Square Park, and in a very trendy yet residential part of New York. 1/2 a block from Zum Schneider restaurant / bar, and many exciting and tasty places for eating, shopping and meditation. Where else but the East Village will you get stores like Gabay's, John Derian, Toy Tokyo, Obscura Antiques and Oddities, Love Shine, Fabulous Fanny's, and many inexpensive tasty restaurants. There is a good vibe here because there are many college students.

No tv. Yes, large screen dvd player.

The whole apartment is for you. I will check you in, give you a tour, tell you about the neighborhood, and leave you a set of keys.

About the area:
The East village and Alphabet city are very unique areas of the city. Tomkins Square Park has a lovely assortment of families, old hippies, young hipsters, squirrels, a red tailed hawk, and a very cute dog run. As in all of New York there are many restaurants, but the ones here are affordable... since there are many students that live here that go to nyu. Good night life, and trees... yes trees so the air quality is much better than the rest of the city. The subways are about a 15 minute walk, and you have a choice of a few. Very easy to get to midtown and Brooklyn. Some of my favorite places in the East Village:
- Gabay's - shoe and bag specialist
- John Derian, for very beautiful decoupage plates
- Toy Tokyo... toys from (you guessed it) Tokyo
- Obscura Antiques and Oddities
- Love Shine- a funky gift shop
- Fabulous Fanny's vintage eyeglasses
- Russian and Turkish Baths on 10th Street
- Zum
- Buffalo Exchange, a buy-sell-trade clothing shop
